.:I am:.

I am a freak
I am a freeloader
I don't know what real work is.

I am hopeless
I am lazy
I don't know what life's about.

I am weak
I am disgusting
I need to get a real job.

I am nothing
I am a nobody
I have no worth to anyone

I am none of these things
I defy your judgements laid upon me
You, my own Father, know nothing about me.

You call me all these things
Yet you also say you love me
If you loved me, why don't you encourage me?

Why don't you tell me I did a good job
Why don't you respect my life and the way I live it?
Why do I have to be put down, because you were by your parents?

I am not an ex marine
I am not a railroad worker.
I don't believe what you believe.

I'm used to this life
The way this country runs
And while it sickens you, why do you blame me?

I'm not to blame for this
I don't run this country
I am not a politician, yet you call us liars in the same breath.

I am an artist
I have a different view
So let me live my life, and maybe I'll consider respecting you.
